Women In Leadership and Contextualizing the Bible

Next, Tim & Colton share the Jesus Collective’s  “Markers for a Jesus-Centred Transformation”. “Phyllis Tickle once suggested that every 500 years or so, Christianity goes through an upheaval. These upheavals happen because the old answers no longer hold true for a large number of people, and the church at large has to re-explore and recontextualize to meet new cultural moments with the relevancy of Jesus.”  That statement is core to the Go To Hell podcast as well and we look forward to engaging with the folks at Jesus Collective more and more.

Memorial Day & the Enemy Within

No, those two topics aren’t related. Recorded just after Memorial Day, Tim and Colton nevertheless give their thoughts on how churches should best honor the holiday. That is followed up with a brief discussion about the mission of the Go To Hell Podcast, which is to focus on a Jesus-centered faith; and the work of the Jesus Collective which is endeavoring to spread that message as well. They wrap up with a discussion on the enemy within all of us. Based on the words of Jesus in Mark Ch. 7, professor Brian Ross has said, “According to Jesus, you should be afraid of your own twisted potential. You should be afraid of the ugliness that you could unleash on yourself and others.” We too often focus on the sinful action of others while ignoring the ugliness within ourselves that causes our own sin.
