Whammy! Part 1

In this first part of a mega episode, Tim talks about the Netflix documentary Wham!, about the 1980's pop sensation Wham! The doc is a fascinating insight into the duo of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley that topped the charts and made young girls swoon in the mid-80s. With it comes important lessons. Tim & Colton discuss:
The ridiculous postmodern fetish to sexualize close, meaningful relationships between friends, particularly males.
Are parents sometimes dream crushers or Daedalus warning Icarus not to fly too high to the sun?
Finally, we discuss George Michael and the inner demons he dealt with. A man who seemed to have everything (and aware of it) was actually a deeply insecure man who struggled to grasp his self-worth. It's a lesson to us to try not to judge what's on the outside and to understand what others are going through on the inside. It'll make us better Jesus followers.

I Left My Liver in San Diego

Tim and Colton take the week off from Christianity and church talk and this will either be the least or most listened to Go To Hell podcast. It’s an indulgent, detailed, marathon of a telling of our Inaugural San Diego Beer Marathon™ where Tim and Colton, joined by our friends Erik and Nolan, visited 18 San Diego breweries in 48 hours. Oh, we consumed much more than 18 beers in that time. We detail the breweries we visited and what we drank; rating and ranking them as well. What a trip! The Spirit & Jesus-Centered Leadership

Tim and Colton had the honor of sitting in with folks at the Jesus Collective and discussing what Jesus-centered leadership looks like when transitioning from a Bounded Set to a Centered Set culture. (00:26:08) In this episode, we bring that discussion to the podcast. This is not a podcast just for pastors and church leaders. We distill the discussion down to us as individuals as we try to live a Jesus-centered life in our workplace, friend groups, and family.
Item of note, this discussuon deals a lot with the Hopy Spirit, something we have not dealt with on the podcast. We confess why, as well.
1. The Spirit is the agent of change2. Get proficient in perceiving the presence of the Spirit in our midst3. When we discern where the Spirit is moving, our job is to experiment with the Spirit and the measure of our success by new learnings and shifting imaginations4. You should expect resistance5.
